Pre-enrolment and registration both start at 8 a.m. on February 1, 2024. The deadline for all families to choose their school for the 2024–25 school year is at 4 p.m. on March 22, 2024.


If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.


You will need to pre-enrol on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens between February and March each year.

Kindergarten  Registration

If you cannot attend this event, feel free to contact the school office for a Kindergarten Info package or with any questions you may have.


Closed Boundary School

Bessie Nichols school is a closed boundary school. As outlined in Division regulations, the only new students accepted to our school during pre-enrolment are:

Resident students who live within the attendance area.

The Superintendent has suspended siblings access to Bessie Nichols School, for students residing outside the Hamptons neighbourhood.

The following students are guaranteed admission:

i) resident students who live in the attendance area

Remaining spaces are filled, including when a random selection process is conducted by:

ii) siblings of current students who are returning to the school the following year

If the student you are registering or pre-enrolling meets one of these criteria for the 2024-2025 school year, please register them online (new students) or pre-enrol through SchoolZone (existing students). 

Following the close of pre-enrolment at 4 pm on March 22, 2024,the school will only accept resident students who have newly moved into the attendance area or resident students eligible for Kindergarten.

 Bessie Nichols - Full in Planned Classes 

Bessie Nichols School is full in planned classes from Grade 1 to 9 in the Regular Program. A Kindergarten student who is a resident and lives in the school's attendance area may still register. We will now only accept resident students in Grades 1 to 9 who have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.
